The Imperial Palace is the residence of the Mikado and his family. It is located at the top of the "fan" that comprises Kousenkyo. There are separate sub-palaces for each piece of the imperial family: the First Palace houses the crown prince (Sagum) and the First Queen, the Second Palace houses the Second Queen and her children (Chagum), and the Third Palace is home to the Third Queen and her children (Tugum and Mishuna).
